Community Television in Perth is back!

Perth’s newest community television station, West TV LTD, is set to begin transmission throughout the metropolitan area and over the internet from March 1, 2010.

West TV LTD Chairman, Peter Jeffery OAM, said that West TV LTD had requested the Australian Communications and Media Authority for an extension to the start date. Noting that West TV LTD is still making progress towards commencing its service, the Australian Communications and Media Authority agreed to a start-up date of 1 March 2010.

"The board of West TV LTD is very encouraged by the number and variety of program providers who have confirmed broadcasting agreements with WTV," said Mr Jeffery.

"We believe West TV LTD will now be able to offer the best possible local community television content in Australia when we announce our initial start-up programming in the New Year."
